
The Rescue Water
Craft ( Waverunner ) Service is primarily
responsible for providing on water, close to
shore surveillance outside the red and yellow
flagged patrol areas. The craft provides the
operator with an easily manoeuvrable platform to
enable them to warn swimmers and craft users of
potential hazards and provides our lifesavers
with a single operator quick response
capability.
To be eligible to
be a RWC Crewperson, a candidate must be a
member of a Surf Life Saving Club on the Far
North Coast and be a qualified surf lifesaver,
along with the following qualifications :
Be a minimum of 18 years
old on the date of final assessment.
Hold a current SLSA Bronze Medallion.
Hold a current SLSA Advanced Resuscitation
certificate.
Hold a current SLSA Senior First Aid
Certificate.
Have a Boat Driving Endorsement or Marine
Drivers License.
For members
wishing to join the Rescue Water Craft Service,
complete the application form and return to the
Far North
Coast Branch Office. Applicants are welcome
to apply all year round. On successful
application, you will receive the necessary
training and qualifications to fulfill your role
with the Rescue Water Craft Service.
