WHO WILL BE INSPECTING THE GEAR
Gear will be inspected under the supervision of
Branch Chief Scrutineer – Ron Jackson. Assisting Ron
during the inspections will be:
If
at any stage clubs need to contact the scrutineers
on the day of inspection they are asked to phone
Debbie Pawsey on 0423 959 025 or Joe Keane on 0401
381 578.
As
an action item for Club Secretaries could they
please advise the Branch by emailing administrator@slsfnc.com.au
who from the club will be on hand during the gear
inspections. Secretaries are asked to provide the
name and mobile contact of this person/people so
that in the event that the inspection is running
ahead or behind schedule club members involved can
be notified.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION All
approved lifesaving equipment will be marked with a
SLSNSW Gear Inspection Sticker. Equipment that is
not passed by the gear inspectors will not be given
a sticker. Only Equipment that has a sticker should
be used whilst on Patrol. Clubs who are found using
lifesaving equipment that is not up to a
satisfactory standard will be given a breach notice
from the Director of Lifesaving and asked to explain
why this equipment is being used.
It
is the club’s responsibility to ensure all gear and
equipment is up to date on Surfguard prior to the
inspection. All lifesaving equipment needs to be
individually registered, meaning if a club owns ten
rescue tubes, it has ten individual entries in the
rescue tube category – not one entry covering the
ten rescue tubes. This data can be entered more
easily using the “new with copy” icon if equipment
is duplicated. If quantities are not correct
scrutineers will not have the required checklists to
scrutineer all equipment.
Clubs are asked to print two copies of the equipment
checklists and have them available on the day when
the scrutineers arrive. The checklists are an
excellent tool in ensuring you have all the
necessary equipment ready prior to the inspection.

assets click “delete”. Or to add new equipment you
